Fritillaria Imperialis Wilting

My Fritillaria Imperialis are wilting quite badly; I don't hold out much hope for them.
They grew perfectly well last year & started off normally but for the past week they have flagged quite badly and are really limp.
At first I thought they might be too dry so watered them but still no change.
Ant thoughts as to what might be wrong?
