Plant ID

Hi guys,

I bought a pack of sweet pea seeds a while ago and they have started to germinate. However in one of the pots there is a seedling which definitely doesn't look like a sweet pea plant even though the seed it's growing out of looks the same!

Can anyone tell me what it is at this small stage?

Thanks :)

Hi @CraighB not 100% sure but could possibly be a vetch.

I think vetch too. They're pea family so they have similar seeds.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

A Vetch! I've never heard of one before. Just googled it at it looks a bit of a messy plant.

    Does anyone actually grow these?

I like to see them in a hedgerow.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Generally regarded as a wildflower or weed. They pop up in my garden from time to time.

Ah right well I don't think I will keep it but I'm glad I know what it is now and it's the first time I've heard of a Vetch! :)
