So many ads on this forum

Is this forum financed by ads? The amount, and size of the adverts on both sides of my screen, click bait in the middle of the discussions lists leading to accidentally clicking on an ad etc is extraordinary  :o

That's why most folk install an ad blocker  :)
Then it's just the spammers we have to deal with...

    That's how it's paid for.

Yes, this site is funded by the adverts.
I use AdBlock Plus on my windows PC and get no ads whatsoever.

I don't have any ads on mine. When the screen pops up now and again regarding  cookies I always click on "reject all". Has worked for me so far as I found them overwhelming.

I should have added that! It's also the reason spammers and chancers aren't welcome  :)

I reject all the cookies - and the legitimate interest section as well - and never see any ads at all. Every few weeks, I go into the settings on my iPad and delete my browser history. Then when I next log into the forum, I do the reject cookies routine.

I use Incognito adblocker and see no ads at all.
  • @M33R4 I think you need to look into whatever browser you're using and its settings as mentioned in the other posts.  I have the forum pages running simultaneously on three devices ... Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Windows, and Silk on Amazon Kindle ... and, touch wood, not even a sniff of an advert !

Thanks for the tips everyone. I wrongly presumed this site was the BBC TV programme Gardener's World's own forum and my TV license would have gone towards it 😆

Just switched to Google Incognito as you recommended 👌  thank you.

Safer than downloaded pop-up-blocking software which can come with safety issues of their own contrary to their purpose.
