Potentilla Snow Damage

harmonyharmony Posts: 403
Good morning, I have this old potentilla ( a white one ) it is at least 25yrs old and with the heavy snow last month it got a right battering with nearly all the branches split or broken. I have cut all the damaged branches back and there is some new growth from the base. Should I  ( would you )cut the branches back further or leave them and give it time or replace it. Its old but was beautiful when in flower, any advice would be most welcome. Thanks

Just leave it. They grow back no problem - despite what the weather does. I often cut them back hard as they can get a bit big, especially after a wetter summer if there's also good spells of warmth.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
