Help! I think my hedge is dead/dying
Hi there, I’ve recently moved to a new house and the hedge outside i think it might be dying.
I would say at least 60% of the hedge is brown and when I run my hand through it the leaves (?!) come off in my hand.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm not 100% certain, but l think your hedge is Thuja plicata.
My guess is that it's down to one of two things, either drought due to the high temperatures last Summer, or something called Thuja blight.
Hopefully another forum member can confirm, or advise differently.
Whereabouts in the UK are you? (A general location will do if you don't want to be too specific).
we are based in Bournemouth, right on the south west coast.
will do some light googling around now I have the name, but yea the gut feeling is this hedge might need to come out.
such a shame as it seems pretty well established
