Repotting Meyer Lemon

Hoping this is a simple question for the experts! My potted lemon tree needs new pot and I am wondering if the new pot needs to be deeper as well as wider. Should I trim the roots? It's an older tree and has been in the current pot for at least 4-5 years. She produces 3-4 dozen fruits every year, but this year the leaves are yellowing. She needs new soil for certain.
