Mine is a ‘Concorde’ … a Comice x Conference … large juicy pears and easy to grow.

I'd agree that Concorde is a better pear than Conference, but I'm not sure that Concorde will pollinate the Comice. It doesn't appear to be a pollination partner for Comice.
Luckily the garden that my garden backs onto has a large conference pear, so I have no pollination problems.

I was looking at the Orange Pippin site for compatible partners and although they sell Concorde it's not on the list of pollination partners. It maybe because Comice is a parent of Concorde.
