    To me it looks like winter heliotrope in the photo but I don't think they produce the orange berries mentioned so maybe there is some arum mixed in there as well.

    Petasites was also my idea.
    Flowers come before the leaves.
    But no berries.

    Please can you add a clear close up of a leaf.
    Could you look under the leaves to see if any old flowering stalks.
