Why is my new turf a different colour?!

Hi all,

About 3 weeks ago, we had new turf laid down. Which was lovely and green and we were very pleased with it.

Yesterday, we had delivered a second order of turf from the same local supplier to finish the garden but the difference in colour is obvious as you can see from the pictures...Do you think we should raise this with the supplier or do you think the grass just needs time and watering?

I think time and watering will make a difference. The left side looks as though it's been making new growth. However, you could mention it to the supplier.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks, when we took delivery of the first order it was already a nice green so I was surprised the second order didn't look the same. Maybe time will tell.

The second lot looks to me as if it's not as fresh as the first. I suggest raise your concern with the supplier, making sure they know it was like that on delivery. If they're reputable they will replace it if it doesn't take.

I agree that you should raise it with the supplier.  If it takes OK there's nothing to worry about but if it doesn't they can't then claim you should have told them at the time.

Sprinkle the cuttings of lawn A lightly onto lawn B and vice-versa.  In no time they will both be the same.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

I did this, He said the grass will look exactly the same, as the first order, in a couple of weeks....Think the second order wasn't as fresh...
