Fuchsia trailing

edited April 2023 in Problem solving
What has happened to my Fuchsia?  I only planted it 2 days ago and look at it now. It's wilting,  why? Hubby left it out overnight and I have taken it indoors. He said he didn't over water it. Please help!

Many fuchsias aren't hardy. I'd keep it inside for a few weeks.

It’s far too early in the year for fuchsia plants to be out and about .I know that garden centres force them and are selling them but I think it’s too soon . Indoors or in greenhouse till well inti May in my opinion ……….for what it’s worth .
  • Thanks for that.  Do you think it will recover?

I'd prune it down to a few inches if it hasn't recovered very soon.. Then I'd put the prunings in a glass of water. They might root😊

Should do . Cut it down a bit, as has been said ,keep it a bit mollycoddled for a few weeks yet and if the weather ever improves or at least warms up a few degrees try it outdoors then .

You can't overwater Fuchsias.  They are one plant you can stand in water.

Even if hardy and no frost, a newly bought plant should be acclimatisd (hardened off) before leaving outside.

In your pic, the stems look OK.  So froma safe distance I will say that I think it will rcover.

Garden centres and supermarkets must make a lot of money on the plants they sell to replace the plants they sold before the end of May (Surrey).
