ONE OF MY FAVOURITES SANGUINARIA CANADENSIS

Normally I prefer single flowers but this t plant is an exception. It has grown in my garden for years in a dark shady spot, flowers are fairly short lived and are followed by very strange shaped leaves. It's common name is bloodroot as the sap is a watery red. Fleeting and beautiful, a member of the poppy family I seem to think. So beware of it's sap.
The curious leaves become bigger as the season progresses. A tiny beauty.
Suze.

I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
