Can anyone id this plant please?

    I think it's a type of oxalis triangularis

    Billericay - Essex

    Looks more like a persicaria, maybe purple fantasy.

    It does get very carried away and spreads. Later in the season it will be more green and not so striking in colour.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    I have it too, and Red Dragon which is what I call "a good do-er" - has decent colour even in a fairly shady spot and doesn't mind dry soil. I'm hoping Purple Fantasy will prove to be as good.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
