Heuchera

Hi is it best to plant Heuchera in the ground or do they do well in pots?

    They are vulnerable to vine weevils in pots so best to plant in the ground

    They can also be vunerable in the ground too. Lifting splitting and making new plants regularly seems to help.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    I lost three lovely ones in pots to vine weevil. I am aware now thanks the lovely people on this site. Seem to be very happy in the ground here.

    I agree that they are more vunerable in a pot. The compost may make it easier for them to lay their eggs. I have seen a heuchera badly affected in the ground whilst a plant 2ft away remained undamaged.
