Mystery plant…please help

Hello…please help me identify this mystery plant. Last year we cut down a dead tree and cleared underneath it, just leaving a few stumps behind. This has sprouted next to a lovely climbing rose and I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help?

    The leaf formation is similar to hypericum.

    The birds drop seeds from the berries these plants produce in the winter,  you could keep it if you like it,  the bees like it but it will self seed around if you don’t keep an eye on it. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
