Plant ID growing in pond

Hi all,

Anyone know what this is?

It’s growing in the pots and over the rocks and pebbles in my pond where, last year, I had plants. They’re perennials so should hopefully return but whatever this is has grown all over. It’s sending out roots and growing under the water too…

Any ideas?

Where on earth has that come from?

I only put some in two weeks ago from a bag I bought at the supermarket.

Maybe the newts brought it with them! @Jenny_Aster

    Ooooooo, you’re good!

    Thank you.

Last summer was a bit of a blur as I had a shock bereavement.

Just looked back at the plants I bought (I take pics of all of the labels)…..

    It’s clearly become a pest 😂

I think I’m OK with it. Lots of flowers in the summer.

Mine turned up in my pond of its own accord. Has spread fairly rapidly, but is not a problem [ yet ]

I’m sure I could thin them out if I needed to. Have you removed any @punkdoc

The bed that the pond is near is 50% yellow flowers in summer so it ties in quite nicely.

Not removed any yet, but it is a large natural pond, so I think it works.
I am sure there will come a time........
