Garden shows and events 2023

Hello, is anyone going to the Newark Garden Show this weekend?
Any tips for a newbie to shows?
I'll be going with my mum and hoping for some inspiration and ideas.

Any other shows people are looking forward to this summer?

I have been many times before but I’m got going this year.
I’m not sure what your expecting from the ‘show’ but it’s just a plant and knick-knack sale (ornaments, pots, sheds and seating) not that there is anything wrong with that.
I really like the gift/craft/food stalls inside as well.

We'll be going to The Hampton Court Flower Festival. Looking forward to it.

Take a brollie and comfortable flat shoes plus shopping bags for purchases and
a camera/phone so you can take pics for future ideas. Food and drink can be expensive at these shows so snacks/packed lunch could be useful.
Not sure how big the Newark one is but I'm going to the RHS Malvern Flower Show (by coach) in May - and it's big!

    Have fun.

Going to Chelsea this year, possibly for the last time as ticket prices have doubled since I last went 7 years ago.   I know to take a plastic bin bag to sit on for lunch and my own sandwich as seats are ot always available and choice is limited and prices elevated on site.

I take a fully charged camera to take photos and wear comfortable layers and flat shoes and some sun cream.

Other big RHS shows are cheaper but not, IMO, as good for garden design and plantsmanship tho it is possible to buy plants so swings and roundabouts.

All the RHS gardens have various activities throughout the season and you'll find details of what and when on the website.   Other organisations and big gardens also organise shows and plant fairs eg:-

    and so on.

  • Thanks everyone. I have been to Hampton Court a couple of times years ago and it was good.
I'll have a look at those links and see what else is near me. Some of the other rhs ones look good too.
    Enjoy your days out everyone.
