I think this was mentioned on another thread recently - mast year indeed. I've had loads of them recently, and our nearest maples/sycamores are a good hundred yards away now. First time we've had loads since moving in here ten years ago ,despite the neighbour across from us having a maple until recently. Used to have loads in the garden round the corner but we had a field maple in the garden so it was normal to have them there
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Been picking them out for weeks and still lots more to go! They get in my borders and get hidden under bushes and in between plants. Good luck with the hunt.
I found a single sycamore seedling in the garden today. There isn't a sycamore tree anywhere very near here but I don't suppose that matters when the seeds come equipped with their own helicopters.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

There are literally thousands of them. Pulled out a few hundred today.
On inspecting where the wild flower garden is supposed to be growing, they appear to have taken over there. About 70% of it is covered in sycamore seedlings
I suspect they have out competed the wild flower seeds.
