Can you please identify?

This was found inside a branch of an Amelanchier which snapped. On closer inspection I saw that there was a small hole and the thing burrowed its way through the branch. It is about 2 cm long. It has eaten its way along 50cm or thereabouts.

Yes it is here in Luxembourg. This one was very happy in the Amelanchier perhaps because it is a tender young tree.
