Identity please.

Finally started clearing my garden as been out of action since end of last summer. These leaves are shooting up all over the place and would like to know what it is please? I'm over reacting as some years ago in a different house I had a battle with Japanese Knotweed but I also know it couldn't (hopefully) have come with me as I've been here over 4 years now and not seen these before. I think it could be ivy but not sure. Thanks for any help.

Definitely not JKW. It’s too early for it to be that big and the leaves aren’t the right shape.

Not sure what it is though.

    Sycamore seedlings.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thank you TheGreenMan I'm absolutely terrified of having JKW again, I saw red stems and panicked.
Thank you B3 I think you are right, this year I had loads of 'helicopters' in the garden after a really bad storm. There is a huge Sycamore up the hill from me, didn't give it a thought as never had this before.

    Thank you.
New pics are super and clear.

    NOT JNW.
Not ivy, as that has alternate leaves./veins different.

    Tree seedling.
Not right for Acer pseudoplatanus....common name Sycamore.
Leaves are opposite so could be another Acer sp.
    Not sure.
What trees do you have in your neighbourhood?

But with so many  I wouldn't wait to see...get them all out while still tiny.
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .
  • I've had a scout around, and I suspect Acer platanoides, the Norway maple.

  • Thank you Silver surfer and Cambridgerose12. I think I've got over 50% of them up now and it's drizzling :s but, might grow one in a pot to see what it will look like.
