Can anyone help identify these bulbs please?

Hi. I am finding lots of these bulbs in the garden. They have not yet started to grow again. They are dark in colour with lots of bulbous parts. Thank you.

Yes, crocosmia corms, the new ones grow on the old ones.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I agree …. crocosmia … technically corms rather than bulbs … each year a new one grows on top of the one of the previous year, forming a sort of ‘chain’.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
