White mould on plants in the GH Veronica spicata

Hi these are Veronica spicata, potted on from tiny plants growing well in my unheated GH or so I thought, but noticed this mould today.
I have had problems with mould before on plants due to not being ventilated well, but now have all doors and windows open, so the GH is just shelter.
It is hard as it’s getting hot during the day but is still cold at night, so they could be under stress from conditions being too variable.  I also have a bit of a tendency to over water, my fault but the compost always looks dry.
Any ideas?
sorry they are upside down, probably doesn’t make much difference though.

Not an expert but, could be Mildew.

Experts along shortly with any luck.

  • @a1154 I had the same on my Linaria grown from seeds over winter. It didn’t spread to other plants. After planting them out in February, this white stuff disappeared and the Linaria happily grows since being in the ground.
It has been a long, wet winter with hardly any sunshine here, and the greenhouse doesn’t get sunshine from November until February. As soon as it gets warmer and sunny I will clean the greenhouse.

    I my garden.

I have quite a few clumps of V.Spicata that I grew from seed some years ago.
They're one of the first to get powdery mildew after a dry spell and then seem to have it for the rest of the season.
It doesn't seem to cause them much harm though.
Overwatering would also encourage it - check if they need water by lifting the pot - it's quite easy to judge by weight if they need water or not.

The mildew spores are in the air all the time - it's only when conditions are just right that they're able to get hold.

Ah didn’t realise they were prone to it, not had them before.
