I have two trays of Cosmos Candy Stripe. I think they are ready to pot on. They have become quite leggy. My question is, when I pot on should I plant the stem a little below the soil or not.
I've had that happen in the past. I sowed mine and put in a heated propagator. Once I can see the true leaves appearing I prick them out into modules and leave them on the staging in my unheated greenhouse. This stops them from growing like crazy as it's cool but with good light. So long as they don't get frost they'll be ok - they're a month old and about 2"

Mine look similar. I will bury them a bit and get them in the greenhouse. It is a touch frosty here this morning though, but may have to risk it. Good luck, hope they do well. My absolute favourite annual.
I've potted mine on, put them out during the day and on a windowsill at night. They are still small but stems thickening up. Slugs are the main fear until they get going!

Yes, you can burry the stems deeper, but they need more light.
