Confused newbie - topsoil order
Good morning all. I'm very new to gardening, and plan to lay some turf for my little boy to play on.
Currently its gravel which we laid as the dog ruined our last grass.
The soil underneath is OK, but drainage was poor. I want to order new top soil to lay the turf on. The space is 5.1x4.8m
I've used several online calculators on turf websites and they all through out different answers. Rolawn bags are 500l and say I need 4, yet gravel master are 850l and say I need 7
Any help would be much appreciated

It depends on how deep you want to cover it.
If you want 4" (10cm) then you'd need 2,448L or 2.448 cu M
If you wanted 2" (5cm) depth then it would be half the above amount.
That said, if the ground is poorly drained you should sort that out first if you want your turf to succeed
PS - check out CPA Horticulture for your topsoil.
I've ordered topsoil, manure and compost from them - all very good quality and cheaper than I found elsewhere
