A world of difference between quoting a source along with links to the proven evidence as opposed to simply stating Not true . Just saying "IME" or "I have found" leaves it open to further discussion and other opinions and allows the person asking the question to evaluate and act accordingly. In the majority if cases, it's no more time consuming to ensure clarity than it is to do otherwise. I agree it isn't worth arguing over but it does help those asking for advice to know whether something is simply down to someone's personal experience/opinion rather than "fact".
