Our fruit trees (plums, gages, cherries and peaches) are in full bloom now. Wonderful to see but the weather as always is against us. The rain is lashing down and the wind blows the birds all over, so how do the pollinators have a chance. As always we hope that we can get some fruit from these trees before the birds get them.

The cherries never get far enough for us to eat, even when netted.🤷‍♀️
Today I went around hand pollinating my Pear and Plum flowers, the apples are not out yet, as there have been few insects this year. Also its windy and cold overnight,  so little chance of it being naturally done. I have had to do this in the past.

I should clarify im based in north africa…

so the climate is fine …

havent had many birds at the plum, peach and apricot tree…

do they have a particular thing for cherries?

oh maybe its because of the cats that i havent had issues?

have 3 very acrobatic  cats : p theyd win gold at the olympics for gymnastics…i bet thats whats deterring the birds!

will do the hand pollination its worked for me before on the pear tree which previously flowered but produced nothing but produced after hand pollination unless it was due to some other factor…

    god knows.

thanks for all your help folks.
