The garden looks great, but my main worry would be that a line of some kind has been fixed to one of the fence posts on the right hand side.  The post is already leaning into the adjoining garden and will only get worse.
  • It might not look it but my garden now takes significantly less work than it did when it was mostly lawn. The lawn was weekly mowing and the constant frustration of dandelions and other weeds.
This is so true. I keep trying to persuade various friends, but I never manage it! They automatically assume that anything other than lawn must be really time-consuming. (Mind you, it means I am seen as some kind of super-gardener :) )

It's lovely that you've been encouraged to do this in memory of your mother. Nothing like a garden to make us think of cycles of renewal and hope.
  • @Cambridgerose12 Up until last year I had some purple flowering pots on the patio as it was her favourite colour but I could never really get it to work. This year I'm growing container veg instead which I think she'd be chuffed to bits about as she loved growing veg herself. I'm hoping I've inherited hers and her brother's green fingers on that front 🤞 My uncle's garden was 100% veg but I have no idea what he did with it all, he was a confirmed bachelor his whole life!

Every year when I top up the raised beds I sprinkle some of her ashes in 🙂
