Shrub Identity

Vh72Vh72 Posts: 127
We have a shrub in our garden which comes out in white snowball flowers.  I've been told it could be viburnum opulus but our shrub has no red berries after the flowering but otherwise looks the same.  Any ideas on exactly what it is?

@Vh72 Possibly V opulus Roseum? Flowers are white with pink tinge as they fade they are sterile so no berries.

I agree, a great disappointment of a plant compared with the species

Looks like the one above in flower.  Here's a pic of it at the moment, nearly fell over taking it though.

Oh no don't fall over just not worth it. Looks like there is a dent in your plastic box!

I was hoping nobody would notice the lovely box.  I'm clearing that area as used to be a bit of a dumping ground.

    It is huge.
Looks as if it is full of flower buds.
Have turned your pic...and lost the box!

Must be well fertilised in that area of the garden.  It's been trimmed on the left side so I could get my shed in there.  We want to put another in the front garden but didn't know what it was as a friend grew it from a cutting they took about 20 years ago.
