Should we trim top of Jasmine?

Should we trim down to where leaves are? The spindly bits do have little shoots on. Thank you!

Looks like Star Jasmine, Trachelospermum Jasminoides.
Yes, I trim all those long spindly bits. I try to keep it fairly compact, looks better.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
