Hydrangea Paniculata Limelight
in Plants
I have a Hydrangea Paniculata Limelight (about 2 years old) but I am confused about the pruning. Do I prune all branches down to a node, or just chop them randomly? If I left it unpruned what would happen? Many thanks for your help.

You don't need to prune, but you get stronger plants and better flowers if you do.
I take every shoot back to about 3 buds.

I have 2 Vanille Fraise (very similar to Limelight) that I like to keep in bounds, so I prune back to a woody framework about 2ft or so every year so they get to about 4ft by summer.
