Frogs - garden pumps

The gardener has just been and I mentioned that there were two frogs with their legs stuck in the garden pump, something that has happened before at this time of year.  He's very experienced gardener and says that this is not that uncommon, particularly in spring.

We have no idea what the attraction could be - possibly a small heat source from the pump or just the noise of the pump (I assume it makes one).

Anyone any idea what is going on here?

Thanks
At about 750 feet on the western edge of The Pennines.  Clay soil.

No idea!  Mines a wildlife pond,  no pumps or filters.

Frogs are not generally known for their common sense . Just frogs being frogs .

Maybe it's because the filter pulls in all sorts of bugs and the frogs get attracted to this feast.
I know when I clean my fish pond pump every few weeks it's full of little beasties

I fitted a foam filter to the inlet of my pond pump to stop the wildlife getting sucked in on a pond I made years ago.

It’s another job cleaning it periodically of course but might save money on froggy mobility aids in future.😁

That’s lovely to hear Dave,   I’m pleased you’re thinking about the little creatures.
