@Lyn Sorry can't tell you which one as the original plant was planted in 1978 when we moved here and so have no idea now which variety it is. It crops very well and starts growing in January. We don't cover it or force it just add homemade compost each year.

Ok thank you,  @bertrand-mabel,   I sowed these about 10 years ago. And it’s been a good cropper,  just prone to flowering.
Think I’ll try a different one this year.

Has anyone recommendations for a nice one please?

@MikeOxgreen harvesting beetroot......our seedlings aren't even ready to plant out. Wow!
Rhubarb though has continued to be brilliant as do all the various salads.
@Lyn never had ours blown for flowers and then seeds.
I planted it in the PT last Autumn so it's been a while growing!

Every one of my son’s visitors so far has left here with an armful of rhubarb 😆

I do hope this thread continues throughout 'the season', it'll be lovely reading and seeing pics of others successes, and failures too - we all learn from failures.

Everything comes to those who wait.   A lot of people have been pulling rhubarb for ages.
