Small garden Tall plans

I have a small garden with large parts having only a few hours of sun a day. Rather than large spreading plants I am lookng for tall thin plants which I can then infill with smaller plants as needed.
I like Bronze Fennel,Yarrow, Sanguisorbia as they sort of float above the rest and move but they seem more suited to full sun than the four hours of sun I can offer them.

Any ideas  ?

It's a common mistake to fill a small garden with small and small-leved plants but in fact the effect is to make the garden small.  Using a few bold plants with big foliage helps make the garden look bigger.

The RHS website can be used to produce lists ofplants for a particular aspect, such as this - https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/for-places/shade-planting-annuals-bulbs-perennials
and you can also search in more detail with soil type, aspect; exposure, light etc - https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/search-form

@Unionworkeruk I am not sure you will get height in a shaded area as there is less sun. If anything comes to mind I will post later. Perhaps some form of obelisk?
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
