Aubrieta single or multiple blooms?

GravelEaterGravelEater Posts: 124
Apologies if this has been covered, if so I must not be searching the correct terms...

Do Aubretia bloom once, as in the entire plant get covered in flowers and then they are spent.  Or will it bloom multiple times until the end of Spring/beginning of Summer?

I understand that they come back year on year, that's easily found info.  As is general maintenance of them.

Thanks

I know it's a Spring flowering plant.  My question was does it produce one flush of flowers or once those first die/wilt do more flowers emerge.

I've just taken a look at mine and whilst it's looking a bit shabby as most of the blooms have gone, there are quite a few little buds which I can see purple splits down them.  So, I've answered my own question: it will bloom multiple times until the end of it's flowering season - hoorah!

... and to update this post.
The old flowers that were blooming when purchased about a month ago all dried and shrivelled up.  The buds I saw have now started blooming.  Lovely purple turning to blue blooms coming out.  It's about 1/4 - 1/3 covered now.

So it blooms, sheds flowers, blooms, sheds flowers until the end of it's seasonal period for doing so I guess.  Maybe there was a bit much water, maybe it was a change of conditions from purchase to being repotted and sitting in the garden.  Whatever, all is good.
