    I agree with @Loxley, there's great value in grasses, especially over winter when the garden can look like a wasteland!

    They are large beds of around the edges of the lawn. I am not home to take pics unfortunately.
    Ok. So they aren't all north west facing then - that would be impossible, and it's why I couldn't understand the space   :)
    I'm assuming the house is north west facing then, and the other beds are facing roughly south east, south west and north east if there's four? Or something similar.
    It would still be helpful to know how each bed is sited, and what spaces are around the existing plants.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
