Struck down by damping off

Dobbin26Dobbin26 Posts: 60
I've just noted that some of my love lies bleeding and allysum seedlings have succumb to damping off. I noted a few years ago that the Cheshunt compound I used to buy was no longer available. I'll be increasing air circulation by switching a fan on and removing the propagator lids but what do you use to prevent this condition?

Sow more now. Often, the problem comes from sowing too early when conditions aren't as ideal as they could be for small seedlings, and they're sitting in damp conditions for too long.
However, lids should always be removed once there's a decent level of germination to help prevent it though.  :)

Try sprinkling Cinnamon powder on the seedlings. That has worked for me in the past.
