Small Cordless Lawnmower

After trying to cut my Mum's small lawn and uneven paths with her current lawnmower I have decided she needs something smaller and easier to use!!
My Mum is nearly 90 so it is up to me to cut her grass, her old mower is very heavy, needs an extension lead and with the grass box on is just too long.
It takes me as long to set it up and put it away as it does to cut the grass!!!
Been looking at the Gtech Small Lawnmower SLM50 and wondered if anyone has any experience with it?

I don’t know this mower @madpenguin but I notice that it mulches the grass, ie returns the cut grass as a mulch to lie on the lawn as there’s no collection box.  I’d rather remove the grass so that it doesn’t follow me into the house!  If the mulch doesn’t break down well due to soil compaction or weather conditions, a thatch will build up, encouraging moss.  You could of course use a rake but that’s more work!

My Mum doesn't really have a lawn as such, just a bit of grass//weeds that needs trimming!!!!!!
The grass would probably be cut more often because there would not be the extended faff in getting it all set up.
I myself have an ordinary push hand mower with no grass box and have had no problem with thatch as it is easy to cut the grass quickly and more often.
I have a Gtech vacuum cleaner and I know I clean more frequently because it is so easy!

The first mower we ever had was like the one you are looking at.
In that it also had a single handle rather than something you can hold and steer with two.

I did not realize how hard it was to use until we decided a larger mower for the garden size would be sensible.
I think it does depend on how large an area and if you need to turn often.
A two handed handle/bar is very much more easy to maneuver.

That first mower we had was tiny and pretty lightweight, can't quite remember but I think it was Qualcast and cable/electric.
But the turning put a bit of a strain on hands and made my wrists ache after a bit, and I was much fitter back then ( ha ha!).

The one you are now looking at maybe much lighter, but just a thought/ consideration.

    Thanks Rubytoo
I am currently using Mum's larger mower and it is just too big to manoeuvre in the area of lawn.I make one push and have to reposition for the next cut!
This Gtech is more like using a vacuum cleaner.
I ordered it today and will have to report back here on how it handles!
