Sweetcorn seed floating, poor viability?

Hi, just about to start my sweetcorn and I decided to soak it first this year. I had two packs of seed and most of the seeds in one packet sunk and the other packet, apart from a couple of seeds, all floated. Does anyone know if the old rule of floating seeds means they are unlikely to be viable is the case with sweetcorn? If they are I'll get some more rather than waste a few weeks with these.

They don't take long to germinate let us know how you get on, I don't sow mine until May.
