Hello lovely people.
I have two clumps of long thick grass on the green outside my house. They come up in March/Early April every year ahead of the rest of the grass growing and then gradually get lost and merge in with everything else. I've never been able to id them before and they have never flowered...until this year! Now there are really pretty white and green flowers and wondered if anyone knows what they are?

It looks a little like Puschkinia libanotica, @Staceyj but they are more blue striped than green.

Ornithogalum nutans I think. It has a reputation for being thuggish but maybe that doesn't matter in that situation.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

Thank you everyone for all your comments and help. Ornithogalum nutans, Drooping star of Bethlehem it is!!!

Strange it has been here for years and never flowered before. Maybe the very dry, hot summer followed by the cold, soggy winter were ideal conditions for it.
