Happy to see that a more unusual honest, with mottled leaves, has seeded itself.

I note that there are a lot of foxglove and calendula seedlings about, mostly in the veg plot, so they will be potted up when I get around to the mammoth weeding job I've got to do there.
Gardening in East Suffolk on dry sandy soil.

Yes, the varieties honesty do seem to come true 🤞. I have Chedglow, Somerset Marble and alba variegata as well as the common green-leaved white flowered and purple flowered forms. I don't seem to have many foxgloves this year but I've got some seed of the white so I'll chuck it around in June or so when they would be naturally setting seed.

    Silybum marianum.
I was so chuffed to see a Milk thistle seedling growing where I had dug a new border and used compost from our bins last year, (which I add papers from our pet birds poop trays.) Part of their diet includes these seeds, in small doses, they are quite expensive but well received, so worth it.
Funny, I never thought to try growing a few.
I can't grow enough to use as a I do usually as a suppliment /feed in a day to day way.

It is very pretty variegated leaf and I hope to see it flower this year and also hope we get more in the future.

Borage - once bought a pack of seeds, and have never needed to again - I just move the seedlings that appear each year to where I want them.  Such a pretty blue and the bees love them.  Good frozen in ice cubes too for a fancy addition to a G&T 🍸
