Rhododendron cubitii. Strongly scented. ca 50 years with me, in the same pot. ex Reuthe's when they had an Orpington site for tender rhodies. Tender in bud and flower but not stem or leaf. Spends the winter in an unheated greenhouse.
Voila my bonsai effect. Not a single stem, but ... The peeling bark is a beauty on its own. Pic date April 12 2020. This year, frost got to its flower buds for the first time.
