Parsley seedlings

I have recently sown parsley seeds in a tray on a windowsill, on a heating mat.  They have now germinated so I have turned off the heating mat and want to encourage the seedlings a bit by turning on a little over-tray led light strip (the window sill faces south but this time of year there is not much natural light).

My question is, should I keep the led light on 24 hrs or turn it off at dusk and on again at dawn, to emulate normal daylight hours?  I doubt it's a very powerful led light - purchased from IKEA some years ago, but specifically for seedlings.

You need to turn it off for at least 6 hours a day, plants also need periods of darkness.

I sowed parsley seeds along with some others at the end of Feb and moved the  pots from the propagator to a south facing windowsill as soon as they germinated. I used a lid over the tray initially, removed after a week or so. Pot contents then divided into 4 clumps and repotted, now growing on. No additional heat or light needed. I do turn the trays of seedlings daily.

I do the same as Buttercupdays, never needed led light. Parsley will grow in shade anyway.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
