Honey fungus - hydrangeas

Can anyone tell me from experience if hydrangeas are susceptible or not to honey fungus?  Gardeners World website says they are but the RHS list from 2021 says they are not.

I’d consider the RHS guidance as more closely researched.  Hydrangeas are listed by the RHS in the rarely affected category.

Sadly, the RHS seems to get an awful lot wrong too. Try reading their plant reviews, totally wrong in some cases.

Honey fungus is rampant in my garden. It has taken sweet chestnuts, birch and rhododendrons, but not camellias, beech or rhododendrons.  Fingers crossed.

I've never had honey fungus in any garden so can't really advise, but I've never heard anyone mention them [hydrangeas] being prone to it.
Are you wanting to plant one @Clarendon and do you have honey fungus around?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Sounds like the RHS might be right on this occasion!
