Agapanthus roots

Some of you know I only popped my agapanthus cherry last year. The two I have from then have roots showing above the soil, is that normal? They're in different beds with different soil. They both just about have a bit of green leaf showing. I didn't mulch them over winter.

I asked the same question last year and was told by @Hostafan1, who grows lots of them, that it's fine. Mine is in a container.

Thanks @JennyJ 👍 I put a bit of compost over them just in case - I doubt it'll bother them.
