Hazelnut Tree

Hi, I have a well established Hazelnut tree which is in much need of pollarding as it has gotten too big. The tree surgeon said it wouldn’t cost too much more to remove it. I don’t have a huge garden so I wanted people’s opinions on whether to remove it for a different tree or to keep it since it is very established. I…

Once they are coppiced or pollarded, it's very easy to manage them by removing a third of the growth every year. It means they don't get too thick and it's easy to remove the stems without the need of heavy machinery or a tree surgeon.
