Cannas

I've over wintered a canna lily in my garage,I didn't take it out of its container as I was told that would be ok.when can I bring it out of hibernation and as long as I feed it and keep it frost free ,can I leave it in its container.

    mine are in an unheated polytunnel and are all growing now. I gave them a drink last week

    They make good pot specimens @rpw72n, so the short answer is yes - you can keep it in it's container. It's unlikely to need food for a while. It'll need light though, once it get going.

    You'd just need to ensure it had some fresh soil/compost, and that the pot was still a suitable size for it. If it gets a bit root bound you'll need a bigger one.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I have several in pots in my unheated polytunneland have been watering them for about 3 weeks now.  The more robust ones have been showing growth for a couple of weeks and today I found shiny new foliage on the last 3 small ones which were new last year so yes, go ahead and water yours now but keep them sheltered until the last of the frosts are over in your area.
