What are these?

edited March 2023 in Plants
I planted bulbs last autumn thinking they would be little Tete a tetes however these have bloomed and I have no idea what they are, there's no stem and the the leaves don't look like tulips either. Please help.

There is a species tulip called tete a tete, just like the one you have. I have them as well.

    They are tête-à-tête a tête-à-tête tulips .

Yes - one of the lovely little botanical tulips @jingerbread237ch-MMUl :)
Most of them are quite small compared to the usual tulips we know about, and see more often. They tend to be earlier too - especially the little ones.
They're also easier [better] because they're far more reliable and will spread if they're happy. They still like well drained soil and as much sun as possible.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
