Pics are about the best I can do with my camera. The tree is approx. 6 mts in height. Leaves shiny. West facing. Tiny yellow flowers, very fragrant. I thought I had narrowed it down to a couple of possibles last year and made a note - the note has, of course, gone missing. If anyone can give an idea, I'd be very grateful.
@Lyn That's the one I was convinced my best "possible" began with an A but brain wouldn't get any further than that I did say to E that I could just ask you (pics on email being easy even for me ) but it's been years since I put any pics on the forum so thought I'd use this query to try it. Thanks for that link @Dovefromabove the picture on there was much clearer than in my RHS book - definitely matches up. It also helps with when best to take cuttings. @Silver surfer Many thanks for your confirmation and photos ( much better than mine ).

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
