Yucca (? Of some variety I think) damaged/rot?

Not 100% sure of the name/variety but believe it is some sort of Yucca. Planted around 5 years ago, grown from ground level to around 5ft and seemed to be going OK. However after this winter leaves have been going brown/yellow (top not just bottom as you'd expect) after closer inspection today where the stems(?) Are/were it seems to of gone all mushy and rotten? Not sure on the best way to proceed, what needs removing etc. Apologies if my terminology and explanation is poor 😬 I will attach photos of when it was originally planted and ones from today,

In Surrey <-5ºC continued for several days on several occasions. "Hardy" things died in my unheated greenhouse "refuge".
