Ruthie_QRuthie_Q Posts: 26
Hi there. Anyone from the NW of England who's phormiums are looking 1/2 dead. I have some bronze coloured ones went in last yr in the back garden that look like they aren't well but similar in the front and they look fine. Do i just bear with them/trim them? Thank you

You can cut off damaged leaves but take each one right back to the base - they and any other spiky-leaved plants) look dreadful with the leaves cut off part way down.

@Ruthie_Q There are thousands of Phormiums up and down the country that have died or are looking dreadful. Cold temperatures and wet weather this winter is the cause. Always a risk as they come from New Zealand.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
