Peace Lilly slow to flower?

ColinAColinA Posts: 392
I have a peace Lilly which got to be too large for its pot so last year I split and repotted both plants, Now I have two lush green healthy plants which regularly put out new leaves but no signs of flowers, any advice please

If conditions are right it would flower in the spring so it might be early yet. They like consistent conditions though so the repot might have upset it and it will concentrate on root making rather than flowering. You might just need to be patient with it and as long as it's healthy then it'll flower eventually. I've seen people add artificial flowers to real plants so you get a nice mix of proper foliage but with a nice flower display too. Purists tend to turn their noses up at this but it can really enhance an indoor plant display if done well.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@wild edges Can you feed peace lilies? I've got quite an old one which was re-potted about 2 years ago and it hasn't flowered since

The general advice is not to feed too often but I used to water all my plants with old fish tank water and the peace lilies used to thrive on that. It's hard to judge the nutrient value of it but probably like a very weak but regular feed. As always use rainwater for all houseplants if possible rather than stuff from the tap.

Peace Lillie's don't actually flower, they have spathes. They hate being re potted. Keep them somewhere shadey, cool, mine are in the bathroom. Watered weekly with rainwater, rarely fed. You have to be patient.
